Back in 2013, Cheltenham Borough Homes were looking at ways of supporting their tenants who struggled to keep their gardens tidy. During a meeting with Stroud District Council, the topic of their subsidised scheme came up and Down to Earth were contacted with a view to setting up a similar scheme for Cheltenham tenants with Cheltenham based gardeners. Several meetings later, a pilot scheme was designed and Cheltenham Borough Homes Gardening Assistance Scheme has become operational in April 2015.
The number of residents who use the scheme has steadily grown over the past year and we are near full capacity at the moment.
