Down to Earth has achieved so much with this project over the past couple of years. The list of products is fantastic and just goes to show the abundance of fruit there is within our district. A large proportion  of  work done on this project is carried out by volunteers, we hope this will change as the Project continues to grow and bring in more support but for now it is reliant on the goodwill of dedicated folk committed to the vision of a far more food and energy sustainable local community. Thank you to all Down to Earth volunteers, you’re doing such a great job, I am very proud to support and promote your achievements here –  Nicky

Gloucestershire has over 100 apple varieties, yet our supermarkets sell just a few well known ones (mostly grown abroad). In addition our local shops sell dried apple rings that are grown and produced in China! In fact 95% of fruit in Britain is imported, which is not only unsustainable but unnecessary given a good dose of creative thinking and Community Organisation
