We took on the Cashes Green allotment site in Stroud in August 2019 to develop the site and will be building new raised beds, putting a shed in and hope to have a harvest festival and training workshops, plus wildflower areas and an orchard.

Get Involved:

Wednesdays 9am-12pm starting on 22nd August 2019.

We are looking for volunteers to get involved and help to put in raised beds and seating, build a shed and compost bins, clear bramble, create a pond area, sow wild flower borders, create wildlife friendly habitats and share cups of tea. All abilities and experience welcome. This will be an opportunity to make new friends, share knowledge (and tea!) and enjoy this beautiful site.

All you need to bring is some gloves and good sturdy footwear.

Donations of of gardening tools, garden chairs and table would be welcome.

If you would like to find out more or get involved, please get in touch.

Look out for our updates and news on our Down to Earth Stroud Facebook page here and there is a Facebook group for the allotments set up on Facebook here.

The raised beds are a more accessible option for those who are less able and/or elderly who need to grow without digging and bending! They can also be used by people on gardening on prescriptions, community groups such as mothers and toddlers and they could be rented out as individual plots as well as encourage family use.
