We’ve just received an update from Becky, Jenner Court Housing Estate site officer in Berkeley:

“The residents are in full swing of making use of these raised beds and are currently enjoying their first lot of crops! They are starting to enjoy their first harvest of broad beans, peas, radishes and most importantly they have had the first lot of early potatoes which Down to Earth kindly donated to the scheme! The residents have still a lot of growing to do with rhubarb, runner beans, cabbage, lettuce and strawberries!”

Thanks Becky, we appreciate the update! It’s very encouraging to be part of such a well-rounded project from building the raised beds to the first crops in just one growing season !

We better come round for some pretend weeding when the strawberries are ripe! 🙂
